Sonic Pi Workshops

On Monday 14th March Daubeney Academy was visited by Sam Aaron, a researcher at the University of Cambridge and the creator of Sonic Pi. This is a piece of music software that allows pupils to create music with computer code.

Sam led a Year 7 assembly and then worked with the Year 8 Music Technology class and another group of Year 7 and 8 pupils.

The pupils thoroughly enjoyed the challenge of creating music in a new and exciting way. Many of them have already told Mr Randall that they will be downloading the software— It is free!
