01 May Ofsted Press Release
Students and staff at Daubeney Academy are celebrating the results of their latest Ofsted inspection, in which the school was rated ‘Good’ in all categories and received a strongly favourable report.
The school community was gratified to see the many positive comments by the lead inspector in his report, the full version of which can be found on the websites of both Daubeney Academy and Ofsted.
Four inspectors interviewed students, staff, governors and outside agencies during the two day inspection. They also took into account any views posted on ‘Parent view’. In addition, they observed a great variety of lessons in all four Year groups and took great interest in students’ work. They studied the academic outcomes for students, the quality of teaching and learning, the quality of leadership and management of the school and the personal development, behaviour and welfare of the students.
The report stated that, ‘pupils behave very well and they develop positive attitudes to their learning. They are happy at the school and work hard.’ The determination of the school’s leadership was commented on, as was the quality of teaching and achievement at the school. The school’s pastoral support was also singled out for praise.
Commenting on the inspection, Mr Chopping, the school’s Headteacher, stated, ‘We are delighted with Ofsted’s findings, which recognise the high standard of work being achieved at the school today. However, we don’t see this as the end of our improvement journey, but a step towards our aim to be an outstanding school.’
